About the Bereavement Ministry

IT HELPS TO KNOW THAT YOU'RE NOT ALONE...

Companions on a Journey Grief Support is an ongoing grief support program that offers several grief specific support groups to help a person move through their grief and help them to have a better understanding of what they are experiencing.  It helps to know that you are not alone.

Throughout the year we offer topic nights, grief workshops and a grief retreat. We have social outreach groups that meet once a month including a “Lunch Bunch”, a dinner group and a travel group.

The support groups meet at various locations from 7-9 p.m.  Below is a listing of when each group meets.  If you would like to attend one of Companions on Journey group meetings, please contact one of the Bereavement Specialists so that we will know to expect you.  Everyone new to our support groups is requested to attend an “Understanding Your Grief Orientation” prior to attending the loss-specific support group.  Reservations requested for all groups!

Our schedules may change during the holidays and summer months.  Please call for exact times and locations.
Sheila Munafo-Kanoza or Tom Kanoza at 870-9108 or Linda Sullivan  at 755-9433.

Luncheon coordinators and volunteers are needed to make desserts, and assist with set up, serving or clean up the day of the funeral luncheon.  Contact Carol Heuser for more information at cheuser@saint-max.org.
