Flower Donations for the Church

The Church celebrates the paschal mystery on the first day of the week, known as the Lord’s Day or Sunday. Thus Sunday must be ranked as the first holy day of all. (General Norms for the Liturgical Year and Calendar, Sacred Congregation for Rites, 1969)

Fresh-cut flowers – like our green plants and green vestments – remind us of the newness of life that is ours through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  To help us celebrate the 34 Sundays in Ordinary Time, the Art & Environment Team is inviting parish families to offer fresh-cut flowers to adorn our church.  It’s easy – the parish makes all the arrangements with the florist – you just contribute $75 on one Sunday.  As you make your donation, you can specify if the donation is in honor of, or in memory of someone or some liturgical occasion (e.g. wedding anniversary for you or parents, baptism of your baby, etc.)  And the best part: after the Noon Mass on a Sunday, you can take the flowers with you and let them adorn your home for the coming week! Think about what Sunday you’d like to offer this gift to the parish, and contact Jeremy Helmes in the parish office to get on the calendar for an upcoming Sunday.

Include Me! Banquet
Include Me! will be hosting a Luke 14 banquet, The Celebration of Gifts, on Saturday, March 15 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Janet Clemmons Center in Hamilton. This is a free event! All costs have been generously covered by our sponsors.

HELP WANTED: WORSHIP COMMISSION RECORDING SECRETARYHELP WANTED: WORSHIP COMMISSION RECORDING SECRETARY

Can you offer a few hours of time to the parish each month?  The Worship Commission is looking for a new recording secretary to take minutes of their monthly meeting.  Typically, the WC meets on the 4th Monday of each month (except December and July during which there is no meeting) from 7-9p.  The secretary - an ex officio working member - takes minutes, types them up, and submits them for review by the commission.  Minutes are due back to the chair by 2 weeks after the meeting takes place, so there is plenty of time after the meeting to type and submit them.  If you can serve the parish in this way, please contact Debby Kellner, chair, atworship@saint-max.org or contact the parish office.

In a spirit of good stewardship, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati has instituted a financial misconduct hotline to allow employees, volunteers, vendors and other interested parties to report what they believe to be financial misconduct at any level – parish, deanery or archdiocese. As an additional safeguard, the hotline is administered by an independent third-party company, EthicsPoint. You may report a concern on this hotline either by calling one of EthicsPoint’s trained specialists at 1.888.389.0381 or by visiting the website www.ethicspoint.com
