Family Promise is a national program that helps families who experience homelessness by providing temporary housing, services, and meals through community – based and congregational support. St. Max has been a congregational member of this program since 2016. We have the privilege of hosting these families 4 times a year. Our next hosting weeks are:

Weekly Coordinators - identify volunteers for various roles for our hosting weeks (4 x a year) and are the point of contact for that week. Works closely with FP Program coordinator to ensure readiness. *
Evening Coordinators - are the main point of contact each evening during hosting week. Works with the Weekly Coordinator to facilitate any needs for that specific day. Time commitment: 5:45 - 9:00 PM*
Meal Hosts - Prepare evening meals in full (or in part) for hosted families and volunteers. Join the guests during the meal and act as host and ambassador to ensure a welcoming environment. Time commitment: 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Food Volunteers - Provide various food items or portions of meals to FP guests. Coordinated with the Meal/Food Facilitator.
Evening Volunteers - Work closely with the Evening Coordinator to assist with the FP families. Volunteer duties may involve assisting with meals or facilitating children’s activities, depending on the number and make up of hosted families. Time commitment: 5:45 - 9:00 PM
Overnight Volunteers - Are overnight point of contact for each full evening and stay until departure on the following morning. Two individuals are required. Time commitment: 8:45PM - 7:00 AM*
Laundry Volunteers - Launder sheets and blankets after each hosting week.
Set Up/Tear Down Volunteers – A team of volunteers assist at the beginning and end of each week to set up/tear down bedding in classrooms. Times vary.
