First Penance and First Communion Preparation

Thank you for being a part of Together in Jesus First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Programs at-home for RFY this year! Our hope is that this will provide some additional background for First Penance and First Communion preparation here at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church. This WILL NOT replace the First Penance and First Eucharist preparation program.

Getting Started

Please submit each week’s materials either directly via email to rburbrink@saint-max.org OR submit paper version to the SACRAMENT “MAILBOX” which can be found on top of the mailboxes in the breezeway. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR YOUTH’S NAME ON ALL PAGES OF ANY EMAIL/PAPER DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED.

‍At Home Instructions 2026 - 2027
‍Thank you for being a part of our Faith on Fire Together in Jesus at-home program for Faith on Fire this year! This program provides additional background for First Penance and First Communion preparation here at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church. This WILL NOT replace the First Penance and First Communion preparation program.
Weekly lessons can be found below:
‍ Please submit each week’s materials either via email to rburbrink@saint-max.org OR submit paper version to the SACRAMENT “MAILBOX” which can be found on top of the mailboxes in the breezeway. Please include your child(ren)’s name(s) on all pages of a document. Answers can be written on the lessons, written on lined paper or typed separately in WORD (NOT GOOGLE) documents. If any pictures are submitted, they should be clear and easily read, but with the lowest resolution.
‍There are 24 lessons to complete this year. Lessons will be released each Sunday beginning on September 13th. You have one week to complete each lesson. For example, the lesson released on September 13th will be due on September 20th. There will always be 2 sections to complete:
- Gospel readings/reflections (readings included with the lesson). There are two possible ways to "reflect" on the Gospel (ONE is required):
- If you have other children doing Gospel Weeklies, please feel free to continue to reflect as a family and submit the reflection through the JOT FORM. Please indicate this is what you have done.
- Provide thoughtful, complete answers to the questions that follow the Gospel.
2. Together in Jesus booklets and/or additional materials included in the lesson.
‍Please hold on to ALL materials for the year, just tucking them back into the bag you received at the beginning of the year. If you are turning in hard copies of the materials, please let me know if you would like me to return them at the end of the year.
