About
The Serenelli Project is an archdiocesan ministry that seeks to create a religious community in Sedamsville, a poor and declining neighborhood in Cincinnati. The members of this religious community will be men who have been reformed and are being released from prison. These men’s lives will be rebuilt, repaired and restored by living out the remainder of their lives under the Rule of St. Benedict.
The Serenelli Project is seeking to acquire Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, an abandoned church and rectory in Sedamsville. This property would be the center of the religious community. The goal is to restore both buildings while teaching trade skills to former inmates. The economic activity generated by the restoration would have a positive impact on the Sedamsville neighborhood. History informs us that communities surrounding a monastery tend to thrive economically.
