The high school years are some of the toughest AND most enlightening in a person’s life. Teens are learning who they are, who God is, and how that relates to the world around them. Ablaze will offer weekly gatherings for teens to come spend time together, pray together, and seek how our Catholic faith is a trustworthy guide for navigating through life’s ups and downs. Why be Catholic? Come find out here. What does the Bible have to do with life today? Come find out here. Is there really truth, how do you know for sure, and why does it matter? What does it have to do with me? What is my place in this world? Come be challenged, accepted, and known. We will spend the year building up the community, growing together, and challenging each other with sports, events like movie nights and adoration nights, and bi-weekly small groups to discuss various topics. We will meet weekly on Sundays. Keep your eye on our Facebook page for upcoming dates this year.
Friday, October 28 (7:00 PM) - Sunday, October 30 (Noon)
$15 | Due October 9
Calling all high schoolers! If you’re looking for a weekend away to step out of your normal routine, spend some time with other teens, and dive a little deeper into your prayer life, we have just the thing for you! Our annual Fall Retreat will take place October 28-30 right here at St. Max, and the theme is “Suffering: an Invitation to Love.” If you’ve been overwhelmed, tired, struggling, or just ready for something new, this retreat is for YOU! Questions? Contact Becca at firstname.lastname@example.org. The form can be found here and has all the information you’ll need, as well as a packing list. The form is due October 9, and if you have allergies or medications you need to bring with you, there is a separate form for that here as well. Get ready for an incredible weekend!
*IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS: in order for this retreat to happen, we need MANY adults! If you can offer a few hours during the day or night, please take a look at this signup genius and sign up for a time slot. Because our retreat is using the whole St. Max facility, it will take many hands to make this possible. Please consider coming to help with meals, the “night shift” monitoring halls, helping with activity setup, and other tasks that may come up throughout the weekend. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!* Signup link here—— https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C44AFAC2EA5F4C52-stmax
Dead Theologians Society
Through the Saints of yesterday, the Dead Theologians Society inspires the youth of today to become the saints of tomorrow. Meetings will start with games and snacks and then move into the main part of our meeting where we’ll enter into the candle-lit, catacomb-like environment to pray and be inspired by the heroes of the Church. The saints were normal people, but were able to die to the world and live lives of extraordinary virtue and holiness.
10/16 (Sunday) DTS will visit HSYG
All adults who work with children need to have a background check and complete the SafeParish Child Protection Program.
