Stephen Ministry

Our Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our parish and community who are experiencing difficulties in  their lives.

The heart of Stephen Ministry is the pastoral care element where one helps another seek God’s active presence during a time of suffering and promotes hope for the one who longs for wholeness and well-being.

Prayerfully discern if you are being called to serve as a Stephen Minister.

After  training  and  commissioning,  Stephen  Ministers  are prayerfully matched with care-receivers. Weekly visits for about an hour are scheduled to help bring Christ’s presence to another by listening, caring, and praying together. This is a life-changing experience for both the care-receiver and the Stephen Minister.

Is Life More than you can Handle Right Now?

We all experience challenges in life--times when we could benefit from the support of a caring Christian friend.  Stephen Ministers are ready and willing to help provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty such as—

  • Loss of a loved one
  • Hospitalization
  • Separation or Divorce
  • Loneliness or discouragement
  • Spiritual crisis
  • Unemployment or a job crisis
  • A terminal illness
  • Aging
  • Birth, adoption, miscarriage, or infertility
  • A chronic illness
  • Relocation
  • Recovery from an accident or disaster
  • And many more…
Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry: the identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remains private.
