What is Heavenly Heroes?
July 8-12 | 8:30AM - 12:30PM
If you’ve enjoyed our Vacation Bible School and Totus Tuus in the past, then this is for you! We are offering a new day camp experience led by the St. Max Youth Group! This day camp is open for Catholic youth in grades 1-6 and 7-8.
Light breakfast item(s) will be provided each morning. However, due to a large number of children and the various allergies/dietary limitations, we ask you to pack your child’s favorite, easy breakfast item foods in a brown bag or food tote, marked with name and grade.
Please pack your child(ren) a lunch in either a brown bag or food tote, marked with name and grade as well. Pizza will be provided for lunch on Friday.
Many volunteer opportunities are available. With our youth ministry leaders and you, our volunteers, this day camp is made possible – thank you!
Please note: for safety reasons, all participants and volunteers must wear shoes (safe for running), NO flip flops, please.

All families are required to check-in and check-out at the St. Max Gym. We start with Mass every morning. The pews are marked in the center aisle by grades. If you and your family would prefer to sit together, feel free to sit wherever is a good fit for your family. At dismissal, parents must come in to sign out your child(ren).
After Mass, we will have breakfast together in the gym with announcements. Please don’t forget to pack your breakfast! We will also provide some light breakfast items. However due to the number of allergies we see each year, it is best for you to pack a meal and we supplement a treat. Again, be certain to let us know of any allergies and make sure your child’s catechist is aware what to help watch for! This is essential as we will also offer a snack each day. Pizza lunch will be included on Friday and feel free to pack a lunch if your child isn’t a fan of pizza!
This day camp will be led by the St. Max High School Youth Group, and with additional support each day by our 7th and 8th graders, Crew 78. We also plan on some young adults, adults, and even a few ‘former’ Totus Tuus missionaries to assist in the class rooms.
Check out Kamp Kolbe for potty-trained preschoolers aged 4 through incoming Kindergarten. 3 year old children of volunteers may attend.
Grades
1-6
Our 1st through 8th grade youth will meet the saints, explore their virtues, and discover the saint-in-the making within. There will be food, fellowship, crafts, games, and more!
7-8
We have a special experience for our 7 and 8th graders called Crew 78! They will be acting as "buddies" for our younger campers and have some service roles during our snack and meal times. They'll also have a camp experience geared toward their age group with team building, games, memories and fun!
Liability Form
We need a 2024-25 Medical, Photo and Liability Form on file for each participating child. If we don't already have one for your child for this year, please download a form and bring it into the parish office or drop it in the collection basket marked Heavenly Heroes. If you are a youth leader or volunteer, we need one for you, too!
